Property Crimes
Burglary, Theft, Check Fraud, Identity Theft
No crime is too small. Property crimes, while not as dramatic as those portrayed in movies, can still profoundly impact a person’s life if a conviction is entered. A criminal record for theft, fraud, or burglary can affect employment opportunities, professional licensing, housing, and financial stability. These charges deserve to be defended with the same care and attention as any other criminal case.
Property Crime Defense
Property crime cases are often more complex than they initially appear. Issues of identification, valuation of the alleged stolen property, accomplice liability, and motive frequently play a significant role in how a case is charged and resolved. Each of these factors can present weaknesses in the prosecution’s case and, in turn, may serve as important negotiation points to obtain a better outcome for the client.
These cases also often involve rehabilitative efforts. When appropriate, this may include treatment, restitution payments, financial counseling, or other evaluations designed to demonstrate accountability and reduce the likelihood of future allegations. Addressing these issues proactively can significantly impact charging decisions, negotiations, and sentencing outcomes.
Every case is different and should be approached on its own merits. Even charges that seem minor at first glance can carry long-term consequences — and they should be defended accordingly.
